The Buffalo Chamber organizes an annual event called Trick or Treat the Merchants. The Chamber distributes flyers to the kindergarten, first and second graders in the local Buffalo schools inviting them to come trick or treat. The event always fall on the Saturday before Halloween. This year the date is October 25, 2008 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Local businesses participate by giving candy to costumed children. Depending on the location of the business there can be over 1000 children.

The cost for the business is $22 plus their candy. A business participant receives a line listing in a large ad in the Wright County Journal Press.  Also there will be a flyer provided for the stores window acknowledging they are a participating business.
