BTB is on a mission to create something special that can be advertised to draw people to visit Buffalo. Night Out for Music at BHS, March 20

The Buffalo High School Music Dept. invites you, your family and friends to attend the annual Night Out for Music on Saturday, March 20. Entertainment provided by the Jazz Ensemble I, BHS Singers and Treble Singers will begin at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. A “Dessert Extravaganza” will take place during intermission and a silent auction. The event is a fundraiser for the 2010 New Orleans Spring Music trip. Tickets: $10/adults, $8/students and seniors. Wright County Historical Society Tractor Event, March 16

The Wright County Historical Society will present their History of Tractors program focusing on International Harvester tractors on Tuesday, March 16, at 1:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Wright County Heritage Center Activity Room, located at 2001 Hwy. 25 N., in Buffalo. The event is free and open to the pubic.
Wright County Bridal Expo, March 20

KRWC 1360 is sponsoring a Bridal Expo on Saturday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in downtown Buffalo. There will be approximately 30 vendors, a fashion show, wine sampling, door prizes and more. If you are interested in exhibiting, contact the radio station at 763-682-4444.

Job Fair 2010, Monticello, April 1

The sixth annual Central Minnesota Job Fair will be held from 1-5 p.m. on April 1 at the Monticello High School. 5th Annual Buffalo Community Read, April 5

Buffalo High School will present the 5th Annual Community Read on Monday, April 5, at the Performing Arts Center. This year’s book is The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir by Minnesota author, Kao Kalia Yang. Copies of the book will be available at the Buffalo Books and Coffee, The Book Break, Buffalo Public Library and the BHS Media Center. April 5 format: 4-5 pm reception/snacks at BHS cafeteria, 5-6 pm student-led book discussions in classrooms, 6-7 pm Kao Kalia Yang presentation in Performing Arts Center, 7-7:20 pm BHS Cultures United Presentation in the Performing Arts Center. Rotary Car Plunge Contest Underway

The Buffalo Rotary is sponsoring a “car plunge” fundraising project. They want your best guess of when the “orange car” parked on Buffalo Lake will sink. The car is clean, oil and gas and all fluids from the engine have been drained. The person who picks the closest date and time that it sinks will receive a $1000 cash prize. Entry forms are available at www.buffalorotary.com or at various local businesses. Entry forms must be received by 5 p.m. on March 15, 2010. In the event of a tie, those names will be placed in a hat and the winner will be drawn.

The Buffalo Days Royalty Committee is currently seeking candidates for the 2010-2011 Miss Buffalo Royalty Program.
