McDonald's is the leading global food service retailer with approximately 30,000 local restaurants serving nearly 47 million people each day. Approximately 70 percent of all McDonald's restaurants world-wide are owned and operated by independent franchises.

In 2007, McDonald's, as a taxpayer, paid more than $1 billion, not including income taxes and employed about 840,080 people. Spent more than $7.5 billion on wages and nearly $3.5 billion on benefits.

McDonald's wants to be a good, socially responsible neighbor no matter where they are. McDonald's restaurants create jobs, pay taxes and contributes to local communities where they do business. The Buffalo McDonald's restaurant was established in 1981 and has been a Chamber member since 1989.

McDonald's has over 70 employees at its Buffalo location. Employees are trained using a structured training plan for advancement opportunities. Benefits available to employees include health and life insurance, dental and vision plans, education incentives, scholarships, free meals and uniforms, 401k, gold card retail discounts and much more.

With nearly 14,000 restaurants in the U.S., McDonald's is able to provide great tasting menu options at an every day value. McDonald's purchases the same quality ingredients that their customers do at home, but their shopping cart is just a bit larger. In 2007, McDonald's USA spent more than $7.5 billion on food, sourcing locally when possible, and purchasing about 40 million pounds of apples, nearly 580 million pounds of beef, nearly 610 million pounds of chicken, more than 2 billion pounds of potatoes, and about 40 million pounds of tomatoes.
