  • Take Your Valentine to Dinner

    On Saturday, February 11th, 2012, The Buffalo Boys Swim and Dive Team will host their annual spaghetti dinner and auction. This year’s theme is “Take your Valentine to Dinner.” The dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a live auction at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for kids under 12, free kids plate for those under 3. You can buy your tickets from a swimmer or at the door. They are also looking for donations of gift items (gift certificates, gift baskets, store service or any other item for the auction). Your donation would be greatly appreciated. All the individuals and companies that donate will be recognized in our dinner menus and on the Buffalo Boys Swim Team Facebook page.  The event is at St. Francis Xavier Education Center at 223 19th St NW Buffalo.  Contact Dawn Elliott at 763-355-9450 or Kathy Green at 763-443-3086.
  • Montrose Suzuki Kids - Spaghetti Fundraiser

    Montrose Suzuki Kids String Instruction Program is holding its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Friday, January 27th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Montrose Elementary School. Enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner (with or without meatballs), garlic bread, tossed salad, drink and a variety of desserts. There will be great music, hourly drawings for prizes, face painting, wacky hair, and Root Beer floats (in addition to the dessert table). Tickets can be purchased for a reduced price at the Montrose Elementary School office until Thursday, January 26th -- $6 for adults, $5 for students, 4 and under are free. At the door, tickets cost $8 for adults, $6 for students, 4 and under are still free.

  • Buffalo Community Expo

    Buffalo Community Expo - March 24, 2012 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Buffalo Community Middle School.  Join local businesses displaying their wares and food at our 6th Annual Buffalo Community Expo.  Local  and area businesses will be displaying new products, experts will be sharing tips on gardening and landscaping, a karate and dance performance, a fashion show and more.  The Expo features exhibits from 50+ area businesses and community groups.  Click here for a registration form.   • Neighbors Strengthening Wright Communities

    The Wright County Labor Council with Faith in Action of Wright County offer their first annual community service event.   Project History:  Neighbors Strengthening Wright Communities began as a partnership project between the Wright County Labor Council and Faith in Action of Wright County to help elderly and disabled individuals get their homes ready for winter.  Since then, the project has grown to include other organizations and municipalities joining the community effort by organizing their own service events on October 3!  Contact Betsy Hunter at betsy@workingpartnerships.org, or Allison Moser, Faith in Action servantfia@earthlink.net to sign up to volunteer!

  • Buffalo Food Shelf Senior Day and Distribution Hours

    The first Monday of the month will be distribution for Seniors (ages 55 and older) at the Buffalo Food Shelf from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Please bring a photo ID and proof of residency (utility bill, etc.) showing you live in the 55313 zip code area.  The Food Shelf is located at 301 12th Ave. S., in Buffalo – 3 blocks east of Cub Foods and Super America.  Regular Food Shelf hours are:  Tuesdays 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Thursdays 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. and Fridays 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  In addition to the regular hours, the Food Shelf will be open the 1st Saturday of each month for distribution and donation drop-offs from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. with the exception in July when the Food Shelf will be open on July 11 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. due to the 4th of July falling on a Saturday.  For further information, call 763-684-1699 or visit www.buffalofoodshelf.com.

  • Adopt-A-Park

    Adopt-A-Park is a public service program for volunteers to assist their community by picking up litter, communicating maintenance needs and assisting with improvement projects at Buffalo parks.  The program is open to community groups, civic groups, churches, families and individuals for a period of one year with most activities occuring April to October.  For more information or a brochure, call Lee Ryan at 763-682-4132.

  • Commuter Bus Service

    The Clinic Cab Company is now offering commuter bus service from Buffalo/Rockford to Minneapolis along the Hwy. 55 corridor available (began September 5, 2006). Two inbound and two outbound routes are available Monday through Friday; seats must be reserved. Call Mary at (763) 235-2205 for further information.

    Buffalo Allied Transit

    Buffalo Allied Transit, week night transportation within city limits, will extend its transportation service from 5 pm to 8 pm.  One-way rates include: reserve ride ahead, $1.25; call same day, $2.00; punch card $25.00 (22 one-way trips). For more information contact Buffalo Allied Transit at 763-477-8596.
