Community Showcase
4th Annual Community Showcase on February 6, 2010 at the Buffalo Community Middle School located across from Walmart. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be door prizes, food samples by Coborn’s, Cub & Walmart and a large inflatable for the children to bounce in! There will also be presentations: 10:00 am - On Stage School of Dance, 10:30 Are you doing Safe Exercise? Excel Physical Therapy, 11:00 DOJO Karate, 11:30 Twitter 101 – What & Why, Five Technology, 12 Bison’s Robotics by Gallagher, and lastly at 1:00 Pinewood Derby Demo – Cub Scout Pack 358.

Friends of the Food Shelf Gala, February 27
The 2nd Annual Buffalo Food Shelf Gala will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Church of St. Francis Xavier Faith Center. Social hour and silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner. The event includes prize drawings throughout the evening and a “Deal or No Deal” game. Have fun while supporting the Buffalo Food Shelf. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Purchase tickets at the Buffalo Food Shelf, Buffalo Books or Riley Auto Sales.

“Little Women” Opens February 12
The Buffalo Community Theater presents the play “Little Women” beginning Friday, February 12, at the Discovery Center with performances at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20th and a 2:00 p.m matinee on February 14. A silent auction will take place at the performances. Tickets may be purchased at Buffalo Books and Coffee or online at www.buffalocommunitytheater.org.

The Dance- The Ultimate Party with a Purpose!
Lillian’s is co-sponsoring the Dance, a red carpet fundraiser to benefit Sara’s Dance Foundation. It will be a glamorous night of entertainment, dancing, food, spa and beauty treatments, and shopping. The event is being held at the Medina Entertainment Center on Thursday, February 25th, 2010 from 6:30-11:00 p.m. Tickets are $47. Buffalo Jaycee’s Ice Fishing Contest
The Buffalo Jaycee’s will be hosting their Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, February 13, 2010. This year’s event is being held on Buffalo Lake from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be prizes for the three largest fish, youngest and oldest fisherpersons, furthest traveled, and other drawings throughout the day. Tickets for this event are $5 and are available at Tesoro, Buffalo Coborns, Carpet Corner, Kuzma Chiropractic, and Pikes.

Seeking Candidates for Buffalo Days Royalty
The Buffalo Days Royalty Committee is currently seeking candidates for the 2010-2011 Miss Buffalo Royalty Program. “Cans that Care” Fundraiser
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Tatanka Elementary is fundraising to help build a school in Jamaica. Benefit funds are being raised through the collection of aluminum cans. Cans can be dropped off at the Tatanka PTO collection vehicle in the Buffalo Cub Foods parking lot. Aluminum can collection takes place the third Saturday of the month from now until May 15, 2010; collection times are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Neighbors Strengthening Wright Communities
The Wright County Labor Council with Faith in Action of Wright County offer their first annual community service event. Project History: Neighbors Strengthening Wright Communities began as a partnership project between the Wright County Labor Council and Faith in Action of Wright County to help elderly and disabled individuals get their homes ready for winter. Since then, the project has grown to include other organizations and municipalities joining the community effort by organizing their own service events on October 3!
